Hi everyone! Here with the next episode of my new series, Stitch Dictionary – the place where you can find tons of new, unique stitches to try!
For each of these stitch swatches, I’ll be working up an 11 x 11″ swatch in Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick in varying colors, eventually joining my swatches together to form a Stitch Dictionary Throw blanket!
Follow along and make your swatches with me.
Today’s episode is the Bobble Stitch, a versatile stitch best used to create loads of yummy texture.
It works up fast and is easy to learn. All you need to know is how to double crochet.
The bobble stitch is great for creating a warm, textured fabric for all types of projects!
Watch the video to see how I make it, or just follow the written instructions below.
Bobble Stitch: (yarn over, insert your hook, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through just 2 loops), repeat sequence 4 more times (5 total started double crochet) until you have 6 loops on your hook, yarn over, pull through all 6 loops on your hook
Ch an even number of sts
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, Ch 3, turn
Row 2: Bobble stitch in 1st st, Sc in next, repeat across, change color (don’t break first color yarn), Ch 1, turn
Row 3: Repeat Row 1
Row 4: Repeat Row 2
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until desired length, changing color every other row.
*Note: Your rows should always end with a Sc.

Thank you for sharing, it’s been a long time since I crocheted a project using the Bobble stitch! Currently I’m making your Bake Shop blanket using the donut pattern for my Granddaughter that loves to collect donut theme items. Loving the pattern!!! You are so talented!
