I want you to know this is an impossible task so far I am trying to get an idea of gram to ounces and meters to yards. Cascade Pima cotton is as close as I come. (1.75 oz is 125 meters). Also if we need to use a different yarn a gauge would help and how many balls per color. We really appreciate your help.

Any category 2 weight yarn with about 326 yds per 100g would substitute beautifully!

You can but your sizing will be very different. You would have to make some pretty dramatic adjustments!
