Day 4: Mystery CAL

Shared by Ashleigh |

We are more than halfway through the Mystery Crochet-a-Long and I’ll be sad to see it come to an end.

Today is my favorite day yet, though – so get ready for some fun embellishing!

We are adding a simple applique today, so it’ll be fun, quick, and pretty. My favorite kind of project.

Can’t wait to wrap up the CAL tomorrow!

PATTERN

Materials:

-Any Color worsted weight yarn (I’m using Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Pink)

-H 5mm crochet hook

-Tapestry needle

With same color yarn as used on Day 1 (or center color) Ch 16, 2 Sc 2nd st from hook and in each across, Ch 1, turn (30)

Row 2: Sc, 2 Sc in next, repeat across, Sc in last, Ch 1, turn (40)

Row 3: *Sl into 1st st, Dc, Dc, sl st in next, repeat from * across, finish off leaving a long tail for sewing (~ 12 in.).

-Curl the strand of crochet up onto itself, starting with the side opposite your finish off tail.

-With a tapestry needle, sew the long tail back and forth over the back of the rose to secure, making sure to sew through the layers of the “petals”

-Make 10 Roses

-Sew each rose onto the center of each triangle shape. Weave ends.

See you tomorrow!

This CAL is one I have been enjoying. I have a question, at the end of row 2 my count is 45. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong.
I chain 16. Next row I sc 2 in each sr starting in 2nd ch from hook. (30)
2nd row: sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, I repeat this across. (45)
If anyone can help, I will appreciate the help.
    Thank you.
